I occasionally have the habit of comics journaling before bed - can be a good bookend - can cause extreme guilt and pressure when I don't. (I feel like a failure!)
Yes! For me, I either need a project with a deadline OR stuck somewhere else.
I did an experiment as part of my class where I did one drawing session at the library alone and one with my bf at a cafe. And cafe went way better.
Caffeine is surprisingly a major factor in getting me to draw.

I love this one! This was an early find for me as I explored the fandom in 2023. This made me want to go to cons even more. I love artistic challenges.
I will be doing a lot of class zine assembling work over the next few weeks.
How do I assemble and edit and add to it in such a way that points to the value of the class space and the activities themselves, and not the drawings and comics that came out of that space?

I learned a lot. I will be teaching this class again and again.
I knew these imagist activities were a match for furries in one-off spaces (like meetups and "panels".)
I did not know how many people would sign up and stick with an online class like this tho.
This space was distinctly magical!
This is the first Tuesday in 9 weeks that I haven't taught my dream class, Furry Cartooning for Amateurs.
Here is the result of the final activity, my "Furry Rave" version of "Dance Floor Class Picture" from Making Comics by Lynda Barry.
Teaching this group of furs was as awesome as I had hoped!

On benefit of one page at a time on Bluesky is that potential readers don't have to click on the page to start reading it, and that helps with hooking potential readers too. I think some people see 4 dense comic pages as not worth getting into, unfortunately!
