Got them in my backyard too. I like how those immature ones look very different from breeding adults!

Telling an LLM "do not shy away from politically incorrect facts as long as they are well supported" does not make it give you secret facts, it makes the LLM produce text that mimics someone who would describe their beliefs that way.

Yes, wheatear was my first thought too. Due to white rump and posture.

Where I live it's more than 2 km to the river. But there are ponds on the golf course nearby.

That's fascinating, because just today I saw a Wood Duck with 6 ducklings in my backyard!

Last fall there was a fox basically stalking me at the Hecla causeway. That was pretty sad. Probably conditioned to associate people with food.

Oh no, I just mean, do you have them where you live. I think they should be nesting in Poland.

Yellow-crowned Night Heron Identification, All About Birds, Cornell Lab of Ornithology While not as slender as a typical heron, the Yellow-crowned Night Heronโ€™s smooth purple-gray colors, sharp black-and-white face, and long yellow plumes lend it a touch of elegance. They forage at all ...

Beautiful bird! This is a Yellow-crowned Night Heron. But I do not think this is a baby. First, it is too early for this (if the photos were made now), and second this is an adult plumage. Juvenile are more plain.

To be fair, they are increasingly wintering in Manitoba too. Especially in the cities they have become quite common in winter. Yet, in spring their number increases noticeably.

I am sorry, this is not a Brown Creeper, but some wren. My best guess is Carolina Wren, but I am not familiar with all the wrens of North America, may be some other.

This reminded me that many years ago one edgy birding blogger wrote an article with the opposite message. I think he called it "birding on the way to your proctologist's appointment", and somehow it was supposed to convey the idea that you should not be recording all the birds you see. 1/2
