Last fall there was a fox basically stalking me at the Hecla causeway. That was pretty sad. Probably conditioned to associate people with food.

Oh no, I just mean, do you have them where you live. I think they should be nesting in Poland.
12.05.2025 04:52 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Beautiful bird! This is a Yellow-crowned Night Heron. But I do not think this is a baby. First, it is too early for this (if the photos were made now), and second this is an adult plumage. Juvenile are more plain.

Nice! I love these birds. Do you also have Ficedula hypoleuca?

To be fair, they are increasingly wintering in Manitoba too. Especially in the cities they have become quite common in winter. Yet, in spring their number increases noticeably.

01.02.2025 05:07 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0This reminded me that many years ago one edgy birding blogger wrote an article with the opposite message. I think he called it "birding on the way to your proctologist's appointment", and somehow it was supposed to convey the idea that you should not be recording all the birds you see. 1/2
