Anyways tldr please tread things like this carefully, like IMMENSELY carefully. It may seem heroic to read it all in copious amounts but the price of that is risking a lot of harm on yourself. Don’t do the same shit I did. Be aware but be mindful of your safety. Both things matter. 🖤
You cannot process awful things of a condensed nature like that healthily if you aren’t trained to do so or have professional insight. Even CIA agents who ARE trained can only be exposed to sensitive materials for short periods of time. To be informed is to be mindful of your exposure to it.
And I know people out there are like “it won’t affect me, this is important.” I 100% understand. It IS important to be aware because it’s an extremely serious issue and victims deserve justice. I’m just sharing from personal experience that nothing mentally prepares you if you choose to binge read.
That’s immensely dangerous for your brain. You’re overwhelming yourself with constant atrocities in fast succession one after the other. This isn’t a “oh that was hard to read I’ll just sleep on it” scenario. You can gain YEARS of trauma in that alone without realizing. There is no undo button.
