How do you get to a Trump?

Too much spending on armies. Not enough investment in industry, trade, healthcare, affordable housing, public schools, courts, judges, universities, roads, bridges, etc.

Liberalism is nice until the public has no nice things. Then everyone gets cranky.

Doing Lat Am history homework about the new post-revolution republics. Vast wealth disparities + lack of funds for investments in infrastructure and public institutions led to more conservative states run by populist strongmen propped up by personal armies and patronage/spoils systems.

It is a travesty that I can't go see High Art at Speed Cinema today to reactivate my fin de siècle crush on Ally Sheedy, but hey Louisville: you should go see it.

Yes! I'm fairly certain I was introduced to this at 18 or 19 by an art major managing the film collection in the basement of the college library.

The combination of lifting a heavy shovelful of wet snow, carrying it 10-15 feet, and the twisting swing to dump it on top of the snow berms I was steadily building higher. Makes sense.
