Keith Ellison is an absolute must reelect.

I’d add Steve Simon as well for his protection of our voter data.

Just a thought: How about we nix Presidents’ Day and make Election Day a national holiday instead?

Maybe this article should've mentioned the DHS IG was recommended for termination by the IG oversight board and found guilty of β€œsubstantial misconduct”. He also survived Trumps IG purge bc he’s under Noem’s thumb and totally ineffective. All relevant to whether a shutdown will β€œimperil oversight”.

What empire did Sparta have? Sparta's military existed mostly to keep their slave population under control. They hegemony after the Peloponnesian War lasted only 30 years. They then got obliterated by the Macedonians, turning their town into a tourist attraction for the Romans.

the comments here make me think we're ngmi. surveillance concerns are totally legit, but most posters legitimately seem to prefer a doordash slave caste to lil' robots carrying burritos.

Top notch this-is-the-way sentiment I appreciate hearing directly (or hearing about) from Mpls 🧊 patrol calls, both N. & S. Mpls sides:

Commuter: seeing 2 individs in SUV w/face gaitors, driving super sketchy...oh wait they're out and on the run, looks like just folks stealing a car, all good no 🧊

ChatGPT promised to help her find her soulmate. Then it betrayed her ChatGPT sent screenwriter Micky Small down a fantastical rabbit hole. Now, she's finding her way out.

It's telling that she was prompting chatGPT for her master's thesis research and it went right on ahead into creep mode; she did not set out looking for affirmatio and conspiracy theories.

I keep thinking I do not have the energy or inclination to keep getting involved in electoral politics and then along comes a race and a candidate like Cedrick Frazier.

This race is a big deal. If you believe in reducing mass incarceration and demanding police accountability, he’s your candidate.

A fundamental requirement for a representative democracy is that elected officials accept electoral results and frankly the second Trump called the Republican Iowa 2016 caucus rigged he should have been ruled ineligible on the spot

Hello All!

I trust we've recovered from the caucuses process and are gearing up for convention season! I wanted to follow up on the outstanding code of conduct complaints, both my own and the one filed against me.

I have heard absolutely nothing since they were assigned to a review board 3 months ago. One of the people against whom I have a complaint is currently running for office as a DFL official, and this makes the matter even more pressing because it is allowing the content of the complaint to sit out there without a resolution, making it look like the DFL is a-okay with such behavior.

Additionally, it is convention season, and I plan to run for a couple of party positions and want to do so with any complaints against myself resolved so I can appropriately address such issues in the moment.

The fact that this process has taken this long is an indictment of the committee as body. It is clearly unable to function in a timely, efficient manner and resolve issues with transparency and trustworthiness. It has been nearly half a year since I filed my original complaint and that is downright unacceptable.

I have sent a follow up to the Code of Conduct committee inquiring as to why it has been five months and I have not heard ANYTHING about either the complaints I filed or the one filed against me. This process is incredibly broken and actively destroying any trust volunteers might have in the party.

The gender version of this is why I am skeptical that we can win by out traditional masculinitying GOP. The very guys we were trying to win over flipped the fuck out and hated us even more when we send a war hero against a draft dodger and a football coach against a weird nerd who wears eyeliner.

Historians say Jimmy Carter’s human rights legacy includes grim failures While experts say the late US president set a high bar for human rights, he also had notable failings while in office.

Whenever I talk about all US presidents being war criminals, people bring up Jimmy Carter.

Carter was probably the least harmful president of the last century. He also knowingly gave unlimited weapons to a government committing genocide in East Timor. We simply cannot pretend that didn't happen.

Wow, Elon Musk sure does like White people | Opinion Elon Musk, the world's richest man and a guy whose social media platform most companies still use, is a BIG fan of White people. Problematically so.

Elon Musk is incessantly promoting vile white supremacy. Why is anyone - and certainly any company - still on X?

What One Man’s 45-Year-Old Case Tells Us About the β€œJim Crow Juries” Haunting Louisiana Today, a split verdict would mean a mistrial. But in 1980s Louisiana, when nonunanimous juries were still legal, 19-year-old Lloyd Gray, a Black man, was sentenced to prison for life β€” even though the...

Louisiana has refused to reconsider the convictions of 1,000+ mostly Black men sentenced by split juries, despite the U.S. Supreme Court ruling in 2020 that such convictions are unconstitutional and based on an inherently racist law.

One of the under-stated signs that this is all a bubble and even the players know it is that they’re rushing to build data centres in places that make zero sense if you actually plan on operating a data centre. The Paluxy watershed just does not have the water supply, this is all smash-and-grab.

What the right wing never mentions about Sparta was that if you couldn't get your wife pregnant, you had to go find another man who could. Also it was not common but also not uncommon for groups of men, including brothers, to be married to a single woman.

Yeah that's right Spartan women had harems
