Today's ruling on the EHRC's interim guidance is a disappointing, confusing and mixed picture.
A trans woman who is a customer in a café can use the women's toilets, but if she works there she might not be able to.
Once again everyday life is being made a legal labyrinth for trans people.
So, at my place of work, there is not difference in toilet use between staff and students toilet use. But now trans students can use the correctly-gendered toilets, but not trans staff.
Ridiculous!
Ladbrokes are very clear, Labour are now rank outsiders in the Gorton and Denton by-election. It’s between the Greens and the fascists.
A Labour vote will let Reform in, a Labour vote is a Reform vote.
@tobietull.bsky.social I'm just sort of wondering about chocolate and whether you'd be able to maybe perhaps bring some back with you from work today? Hey, no worries if not, but just worth an ask!

Why would you call me out like this, I stopped doing this ages ago when you asked
On #BBCQT - Fiona Bruce said that the audience and public didn't want to press Reform UK on their dodgy links to Russia.
I disagree.
RT if you agree it's in the public interest for Reform to explain about their links to Russian money and bribery!
In the spirit of #AbolishBadThings

Not the short clip of Charlie Kirk posted by the BBC at the top of its love feed being a nothingy clip and then about trans people in sports! Nothing else, none of this other vile views! The BBC is pickled in TERFism
People are exhausted.
Our high streets, public spaces, whole communities left unloved.
Blaming migrants won’t fix this.
Tackling inequality will. Tax the super-rich. Fund public services.

Q3: Is there a crisis of free speech in the UK? #faragesays
"I don't think we have a crisis of free speech at all. I think we have a crisis of irresponsible men mouthing off on Twitter."
🧵3/4
Fair, I do see the other side to this too, don't get me wrong, consequences for glinner brings a smile to my face anyway. He richly deserves any that bad things that happen
It is, in a society that wasn't fucked though I think the recourse would be that everyone would be appalled and he'd lose his platform. I'm just not sure we should be arguing for the state or the law to get involved, because the state and the law arent friends to us and that precedent hurts us
Sorry if my argumentation is a bit clumsy here. Either way, I'm behind so much of what you do for our community, so don't take this as me having a go, much love
No for sure not the same, I agree, but I raise the Palestine angle because it shows that governments can be willing to criminalise speech by progressives, which could easily conceivable include trans people. In this climate I dunno if I am get behind arresting people for speech (however vile)
This said, not gonna be crying any tears for glinner lol, what a sack of shit
He still is imo, he's just pointing out that this is a tactical mistake. We don't want the government to be the arbiter of what we can and can't say, because an even more right wing government could turn this sort of thing back on us. We're seeing that already with Palestine protesters now
This is so exciting, finally a bit of hope after the last year of despair

Done, go and do this too, heaven knows GCs know about to be Karens about shit like this - we need to match that energy
At least reform will be honest about fucking everything up, rather than messing up my life then grinning at me and saying, "but you should be grateful, we're taxing private schools"
Youve put it much better than I could there Hazel! A list of nice sticking plasters is not going to convince me that Labour hasn't made my life objectively worse
Out of interest, what would you say the top three things are that Keir Starmer is doing that should please people on the left who are critical of him?
Urgent: me and him and the cats need somewhere to live within the next two weeks, I've just been (I think very unfairly) fired and need to move somewhere ASAP
I guess does anyone need anyone to write a thing about idk literally fucking anything at this point but I particularly know about science-y stuff and cars so like synthetic fuel bollocks and batteries and wire harnesses and such. honestly want to die but I guess we have to crack on
That'd be the dreamy, I'm surely too broke though? Id honestly consider it if the numbers miraculously worked
The 12th annual international Gender Census 2025 is now open until at least 30th August 2025!
survey.gendercensus.com
It's for anyone whose gender (or lack thereof) isn't described by the M/F binary. It's short and easy, and results are useful in academia, business and self-advocacy.
