You can throw our hardwood forests into that mix too. We sold off our best old-growth hardwoods for woodchips and got only a few cents per tonne but because such vast quantities were taken, some people got very rich while Australia was the poorer.

People forget that until Whitlam created a national sewer construction program, most people, even in the capital cities, were shitting in tins in the backyard.

For those that didn't live in the Whitlam Years (I did), this article gives you an idea of the whirlwind of change he instigated. It's a few minutes' read but informative:

Whitlam knew he was up against the Establishment, the CIA, Garfield Barwick's stacked High Court, the Murdoch, Packer and Fairfax media so he went in boots n'all making radical change while he could, hoping some would survive.

His time as PM will go down in history as "The Lost Years". A record majority and no achievements only picked some low-hanging fruit. No vision. No leadership. No balls.

We are seeing signs that the US Congress is planning on taking the approach many Australians predicted. We will get SFA for the hundrends of billions of dollars we hand over for AUKUS but will be forced to hand over parts of the country for them to establish bases for their imperialism.

Hanging around Parliament like a bad smell while taking advantage of every single grant possible excepted, just what has Anus Taylor ever achieved for the people of Australia that would justify the LIberals making him Leader of the Opposition?

Brings back memories of my uncle who fell into a vat of beer and drowned. It was a long slow death. He got out three times to go to the toilet. Boom-tish!

Farmers using traditional seed can keep back part of the crop for replanting the following season. Once corporations patent the seed or produce a seed that cannot be germinated more than once, farmers have to buy new seed every year. Ka-ching!

The risk we face with GM foods is not that they are bad for our long term health, the science isn't in yet; it not that they are bad for the environment though the evidence is looking that way; it's that we are handing over control of the food chain to corporations. Essential foods get patented.

It's getting on to three years since the Robotdebt Royal Commission and we are still waiting for the criminal charges to be laid. The pollies, NACC and upper bureaucracy protect their own.

I would have said more like "The Muppet Show".

We don't know the details (and maybe never will) but the WA tragedy where parents killed their pets, their children then themselves is alleged to have been caused by them losing NDIS support for the two very challenged children. If true, the bureaucracy killing people didn't stop with Robodebt.

In criminal law, there is what is known as the 'cut throat defense' where co-accused each turn on each other to lay blame for the crime. It never works. Both end up convicted. Pass the popcorn. (Buy Popcorn Futures, folks, get a better return than Bitcoin)

Russian wouldn't do it blatantly. Zelenskyy would return seemingly unharmed then in a month or three develop an illness that defied medical science, die & later it will be worked out he was exposed to an isotope or slow working chemical in Russia. The Zionists did something similar with Arafat.

Announced today that between 9.00am & 6.00pm over the last week, solar power has contributed 59% of input to the Australian national energy grid. Continuing uptake of battery storage is going to improve this. We used to joke that one day the government would tax sunlight. I think that day is coming.

Place of principal residence should be tax-free.
First investment property 50% CGT + annual property tax
Every investment property above that 85% CGT + annual property tax.

Scrap negative gearing.
Property-created profits add nothing to GDP, tax them accordingly.
