A soft, high voice broke him from his thoughts, lightly mocking in a way that was easy to deny. “I happen to find the clime rather agreeable, if it helps.” “You know it does not, you insolent little scapegrace.” Chronos cracked an eye to look at her, his tone the particular kind of bilious she knew not to take to heart. “When we are free of this accursed realm, I shall bask in a lovely, dry heat and take great pleasure in watching you broil like a cut of fish.”
