My point was not that Israel is behaving well or treating the flotilla activists correctly. My point was simply that to me, who has developed a sense for such things after working for 25 years in news media, the Celik story smelled like bullshit, which it seems increasingly clear that it was.

Update: Still haven’t heard from Greta, whom I trust as a source. But we’re getting other reports and none of these people, who are eager to portray their treatment in the worst possible terms, repeat the claim that I was objecting to here…

Okay, then, let’s revisit this in a few days once we’ve heard from Greta. If I turn out to have been wrong, I will acknowledge that. Will you?

I’m not remotely a hasbara merchant but this particular story smells strongly of bullshit. I guess we’ll find out soon enough.
