…and since lockdown-breakdown I have completely overhauled my internal sense of value and my life, mental health and sense of purpose is so much better for it.

There are many more important notions of value than the monetary one, but they are harder to measure. But maybe they just need to be felt.

For example: mental health, privacy, stability, independence, sleep, family.

I say this because I’ve always found it hard to articulate why I am a composer but that composer is not always my job. Or hardly ever a full time job.

Having a walk-think this morning and realised that my main employment is the side hustle because the main hustle (music, for me) is a thing whose value is not inherently monetary, and to prioritise growing its monetary value would require comprises in areas of life whose quality is the value.
