Of all the great election results tonight this makes me feel the most hopeful about the future because it is so broad. It's not just about individual candidates but a real message!

I am writing this because it has swiftly become crystal clear to me that many people have no idea what is happening or how this works. Here is a thread for non-academics to put into context what just happened to Dr. Mark Bray, a fellow historian.

I also miscarried into a toilet. It was a planned pregnancy and I was heartbroken. My Mom had at least 2 legal abortions in the 60s resulting from ectopic pregnancy and miscarriage. If today's laws in some states had been in place, she might have died, leaving 5 kids without a mother.

Our current president is severely mentally unwell, and the media needs to cover it now.

The lesson of history is that tyrants cannot be appeased. 

Appeasement only feeds their insatiable hunger for power.

Tyrants prey on people who feel unsafe and vulnerable. 

But without mass submission, a tyrant is powerless.

The courts are helping, but lightening speed is not their thing. They weren't designed for that.

So we all need to do more to respond. Get angry. Get organized. Get creative. Get vocal.
