I was just informed that our Countryβs βJobs Numbersβ are being produced by a Biden Appointee, Dr. Erika McEntarfer, the Commissioner of Labor Statistics, who faked the Jobs Numbers before the Election to try and boost Kamalaβs chances of Victory. This is the same Bureau of Labor Statistics that overstated the Jobs Growth in March 2024 by approximately 818,000 and, then again, right before the 2024 Presidential Election, in August and September, by 112,000. These were Records β No one can be that wrong? We need accurate Jobs Numbers. I have directed my Team to fire this Biden Political Appointee, IMMEDIATELY. She will be replaced with someone much more competent and qualified. Important numbers like this must be fair and accurate, they canβt be manipulated for political purposes. McEntarfer said there were only 73,000 Jobs added (a shock!) but, more importantly, that a major mistake was made by them, 258,000 Jobs downward, in the prior two months. Similar things happened in the first part of the year, always to the negative. The Economy is BOOMING under βTRUMPβ despite a Fed that also plays games, this time with Interest Rates, where they lowered them twice, and substantially, just before the Presidential Election, I assume in the hopes of getting βKamalaβ elected β How did that work out? Jerome βToo Lateβ Powell should also be put βout to pasture.β Thank you for your attention to this matter!
Unquestionably the most dangerous and corrupt attack on the independence of US economic data in American history. Trump is firing the head of the BLS, a longtime civil servant confirmed 86-8 by the Senate, simply because the job numbers came in below his expectations today

Hollywood βGets Thrown Under the Busβ in U.S. Trade Deals, Netflixβs Ted Sarandos Says
Ted Sarandos, co-CEO of Netflix, said the entertainment industry "certainly gets overlooked" in U.S. trade deals.
We donβt photograph presidents on backlots. Itβs easier to count exports at the port than creative IP traveling in the cloud. And we still donβt build trade policy or workforce strategy around screenwriters, set designers, or VFX supervisorsβdespite their global economic footprint.

Good morning. A reminder that historically when the US has wanted to punish other countries, it imposed sanctions on them, cutting their people off from global trade, hoping to create enough economic havoc that they rein in their leaders.
Trump has imposed economic sanctions on the American people.

Itβs one thing to announce a new round of tariffs. Itβs another thing entirely to have the staffing and infrastructure to enforce them. Does CBP even have the capacity?

Over the weekend, the @wsj.com reported that the Administration was considering a 20% broad tariff for its April 2 announcement.
A 20% tariff would...
β’ if combined with this year's other tariffs, raise the effective US tariff rate to 33%, the highest since 1872.

In memoriam: Edward Leamer, 80, professor and director of UCLA Anderson Forecast
Leamerβs contributions to economic research spanned more than five decades and multiple areas. βIt is impossible to overstate his impact,β UCLA Anderson Dean Antonio Bernardo said.
I was barely off the bus from Arkansas when I arrived at the Anderson School. Ed Leamer was kind and generous, but it wasnβt until I was later assigned his work that I fully grasped his impact. Iβm eternally grateful for his humanity toward a kid in his twenties who had no idea what he was doing.
