I'm doing some dev work on Flintlock!, the new game in the Blitzkrieg series of 20-minute 2-player wargames. I'm coordinating some digital playtesting that's happening over the next few weeks. Any mutuals interested in helping out for the promise of a free copy of the game when it's released?

Do you think there can be an expressionist game without characters at its center? Could there be an expressionist game where the central agent is a country? Or a company? Or a faction? Thinking about where the boundaries may lie where expressionist play is no longer possible.

and the uncertainty the administration has introduced can't be understated. All this chaos and volatility is self-inflicted.

Planning, cost windows, and stability are gone. Making and importing physical products is always challenging, but the unnecessary nature of this crisis is infuriating.

30% is still a huge tax on Americans – this is not a time to celebrate (though a sigh of small relief is appropriate). Companies can survive 30%, but it's a drastic impact that will ripple through to lower quality and less choices for players and game makers across the US.

I'm seriously concerned shipping costs will skyrocket, similar to how they did during the pandemic. For our cheaper games, where shipping is typically about ~30% of landed cost, if shipping costs go up 2x, which isn't out of the realm of possibility, our costs are still increasing 69% over January.

Tariffs on China are temporarily lowered to 30% for 90 days, which is still a huge increase from our previous costs, though not an existential threat in the same way. It's still a devastating blow to the board game industry. I worry about the effect this pause in supply chains will have on shipping.
