I think years of weird people petitioning to reshoot a movie they didn't like has desensitized us to the effectiveness of petitions. Like yeah, they won't do anything by themselves but they are handy ammo for scaring businesses and showing solidarity for virtually no effort

As i said, petitions cannot DO much on their own , but i think its useful both for morale, and as an intimidation tactic, to be able to say "THIS is how many people are against this"
