every brick and mortar restaurant in St. Johns is struggling. The St. Johns bizarre is supposed to be a celebration of St. Johns. Message received.
Even with the weather shift, we go hours at a time with no sales. It’s been three years. The data says it’s not doable anymore. Plus, it seems like, once again, the St. Johns Bizarre is bringing in outside food carts despite the fact that literally
I spent last winter siphoning money from my personal savings to keep the business afloat. It’s one thing to never have paid myself (like, literally EVER), it’s another to take money out of my personal savings in order to stay open.
This is likely our last season in St. Johns. Hopefully not our last season ever, but that is TBD. As I always say, it is not a lack of effort, quality of food or quality of staff. It seems people will not drive an extra 5-10 min to St. Johns no matter how good the food and neighborhood is.
