It’s a loaded term but he’s recognised the problems of politics of today, knows that messaging needs to cut though and be every day relatable so has deployed an effective strategy to do just that. Some may be uncomfortable with it and prefer a more academic approach. But that just won’t work.

The fact that Greens have been failing to be heard in any argument, yet and now they are being paid attention to shows it is an effective strategy.

It’s also inclusive, science and expertise is embedded, wants more state involvement etc.

Everyone knows what the Green Party stand for, that climate and social justice go hand in hand. In a by-election you’d expect they would focus most on the local issues, inequality being no.1.

Labour would only have had a chance if they had picked Burnham. A low effort choice I'd say. Probably took more effort defending blocking him from standing!

Maybe they will realise that the political bribery tactic - vote for Labour or get Reform - is dead. All is does is alienate people who don’t appreciate being patronised into submission.

The selective rejection of authoritative peer-reviewed studies like this one based on the flimsiest of arguments suggests to me that the motivated reasoning displayed by glysophate fanboys is as problematic as the antiscience we encounter in other areas (see #ScienceUnderSiege)

In some ways I’m missing a (good!) algorithm on Bluesky, I followed a lot of people on joining so now have lots of noise and keep missing posts from people I follow (like Rachel!).

I don’t think it is as simple as that. I’ve found really useful independent journalism on there, that only exists there. Sadly every component of our digital life is tainted by ownership of or links to bad actors. It’s a full time job keeping up with it.

I think it is quite different from X.
