A studio-style portrait of an older man with short, swept-back silver hair and light-colored eyes, facing the camera against a plain light background. He is wearing a black T-shirt and a black zip-up jacket with a subtle dark pattern. His expression is calm with a slight closed-mouth smile. The lighting is even and soft, and the image is framed from the chest up.

Happy birthday to David Cronenberg, born on this day in 1943 in Toronto!
As a director, his acclaimed films include The Fly, Scanners, A History of Violence, Eastern Promises, Crimes of the Future and The Shrouds. He has won nine Genie\Canadian Screen Awards.

Four wheelchair curlers wearing white Team Canada jackets gather closely on the ice during a match. Two men and one woman sit in sport wheelchairs with delivery sticks resting upright beside them. The two women face the two men while they extend their gloved fists toward each other in a team gesture. The jackets display the word CANADA and red maple leaf patches on the sleeves. The curling sheet and a bright blue arena backdrop are visible behind them.

Canada has won gold in Wheelchair Curling at the Paralympics!
From 2006 to 2022, Canada won three gold (2006, 2010, 2014) and two bronze (2018, 2022).
Canada is the only nation to never miss the podium at the Paralympics in this event.

Poilievre’s Own Goal Promoting Don Cherry for the Order of Canada was not a gaffe. It was a strategic choice. And in Quebec, strategic choices of this kind tend to have a long shelf life.

W.O. Mitchell with thick, tousled white hair and a short white mustache looks toward the camera with a slight smile. Deep lines are visible around his eyes and across his forehead. He wears a dark turtleneck sweater and a heavy coat with a textured collar. The photograph is in black and white, and the background is softly blurred with the appearance of trees or foliage outdoors.

On this day in 1914, W.O. Mitchell was born in Weyburn, Saskatchewan.
One of Canada's greatest writers, his novel Who Has Seen The Wind sold one million copies in Canada. His radio series Jake and the Kid, which aired on CBC Radio in the 1950s, was acclaimed. He died in 1998.

A photograph, in burnt-orange colour tones, of a maple leaf with a heart-shaped hole forms the background of a square image. 19 book covers are arranged in a pyramid shape down the right-hand side and across the bottom. To the left, white text in an arc says "Hidden Gems!" Below that more white text reads: "19 books by Canadian authors you may never have heard of (but will totally wonder how your bookshelves lived without!)"

At the top of the pyramid of covers, to the right, it provides the date of the promo: March 1st to 15th, only on Itchi.io.

The books involved are as follows, from the top of the pyramid and then down, from left to right:

The Lion
The Erstwhile Tyler Kyle
The Dragon Next Door
River of Crows
Hope is the Thing with Feathers
The Clockwork Empire
Flesh and Bone
Goblin Girl
Moonshadow's Guardian
Your Blood and Bones
Winner Takes All
The Flaws of Gravity
Scrap Metal Angel
Destined to be Normal
Clipped
Bloody Spade
Baker Thief
Path of the Warrior
Prince Ewald the Brave

Just a few days left to grab this awesome bundle of Canadian books! 🍁🦫 #reading #books #BookSky #ReaderSky

Members of Team Canada marching during the opening ceremony of a winter sporting event inside a stadium. The athletes wear red jackets with “CANADA” across the chest, black pants, and red-and-black knit hats. At the front, a flag bearer carries a large Canadian flag on a pole. Several athletes behind are in wheelchairs while others walk, many waving toward the crowd. Spectators fill the stands in the background, with rows of red and white lights creating a patterned display. A curved, brightly lit path runs along the arena floor, and several event staff or performers in white outfits stand to the side watching the team enter.

The best performance by Canada at the Winter Paralympics was in 2018 in Pyeongchang.
In that Paralympics, Canada won 28 medals (8 Gold, 4 Silver, 16 Bronze). Canada ranked third for gold medals and second for total medals, behind only the United States.

This is a must read.

The study data is flawed, they appear to have deliberately overlooked established data and the people at the helm are UCP donors.

Hmmm. Are they trying to whitewash Alberta's history?
