Sanidine is high in potassium so useful for K-Ar dating in geochronology.
Electrically conductive iron ore hematite is a pigment with a storied history in red ochre & chalk used for 164,000 years of art history! So my arts vote goes to hematite! Plus itβs found on Mars, & used in gems. #MinCup25
U-Pb garnet geochronology is a great technique for dating metamorphic and igneous rocks, but garnets have very low U and Pb. Sometimes we might be dating the inclusions instead. It is not always clear what is and is not an inclusion!
