It's a beautiful thing
It's not just you
Last night seemed like optimum conditions for some of our winter migrants to start heading home. About an hour after set there was quite an intense Redwing passage for a couple of hours until about 21:30 when the low cloud cover cleared and birds started gaining height @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social
Snow Bunting at the Lytchett Bay feeding station this afternoon was pretty random! Aldo at Swineham this evening 1 (possibly 2) Bittern left at dusk, plus c60 Sand Martin bombing around and 1 Little Ringed Plover flying around calling @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social @birdguides.bsky.social
I'm over that way occasionally. I shall call in
That looks delicious sir
That's a very understandable reaction
Popular choice. Beef and black pepper
I haven't actually but there is a pork and black pepper so much the same
Absolutely! Especially when in a batter

For anyone wanting to see the Forster’s Tern, apparently it’s showing brilliantly in Poole Park near the model boating lake. @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social @birdguides.bsky.social
Wow! Not what you would have expected to see out of the office window in Southern England a few years ago. Adult White-tailed Eagle and 2 Common Crane circling together over the Piddle Valley late morning @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social @birdguides.bsky.social
Yep. I think that you are right. He is revelling in the power. Awful
Yep. Like it's all staged, and people aren't dying.
Yes! He's loving it. Appalling man
A ridiculous total of NINE Bittern have just been circling over Swineham GP, with none actually leaving, rather all settled back down into the fringes again. Crazy!!! @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social @birdguides.bsky.social
Courtship flights?
Great Bustard was a surprise arrival this morning on Ballard Down, found by Brian Edge. Only the 3rd Poole Harbour record. @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social @birdguides.bsky.social
Unfortunately we’ve had to take the decision to cancel this morning’s Jerry’s Point Pop-up 9am-11am due to staff illness. We have more upcoming free pop-ups, which you can find here: www.birdsofpooleharbourbookings.co.uk/home/walks-i...
We only have a few Winter Safari Cruises left this March.
On Friday's trip we saw 3 Goshawks (!), 2 WT Eagles, 1 Peregrine, 4 Marsh Harrier, Avocet, Curlew, Dunlin, Grey Plover, Great Northern Diver and lots more. Last few tickets remaining…

The now annual Forster’s Tern has reappeared in the harbour this evening, several weeks earlier than previous years. More typically it’s been appearing in late March. Wonder how long it will hang around?? @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social @birdguides.bsky.social

Stunning picture
I thought it was superb. Beautiful story story, acting, and cinematography
I enjoyed it. Have you seen Hamnet?
Had no design work in for 3 months now, I'm trying to get back to doing what I love.
It takes less than 5 seconds to share/like something.
Big up your mates, help them out, even if you don't need anything done.
Support them when you can.
You never know who might see it.
Link in bio above.
Cheers ✊
I'd love to. Are they ever held at weekends please?
Last chance to join us for a Nocturnal Wader Ringing Demo this winter. Last few tickets for this Wednesday 25th Feb.

Incredible ringing recovery this AM by Stour Ringing Group of a Kestrel caught near Arne which was carrying a Dutch ring and a sat-tag. Well done for getting the data so quickly. Amazing movement for a bird that typically isn’t considered to move large distances. @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social
It is.
