I don't think it's that easy as the seals are very mobile and they can't rope off the whole point. They rely on people being sensible.
Always a good boat trip to see them from Morston

Water Rail are regular night migrants over Poole & the Asda Peregrines often take advantage of the light pollution & catch them at night. The remains are often blown off the feeding ledge on the Asda flats during strong winds giving a great insight into recent food items @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social

This Snow Bunting turned up at Baiter Park today. A really confiding bird that will hopefully stick around for others to see, like the one last year on Hamworthy Beach.

Anyone want a serviceable bike, or know of a charity in the Leics/Northants/Rutland area who take them?

I’d guess that almost nobody in the UK are cheering Trump on, and only those who think television should be all about gameshows and celebrity makeover shows believe the BBC should be defunded. Other than that, Go Truss!…

You don't have to have meat for Sunday lunch. People also eat cheaper meat / poultry

A record 8 Water Pipit have been colour ringed by Stour Ringing Group this winter at RSPB Lytchett. This is part of a UK scheme to find out more about Water Pipit migration across Europe.

An unexpected encounter with this #Garganey at Devon's #BowlingGreenMarsh this morning. It showed well for a couple of minutes before vanishing. Great pick up by @mrianb.bsky.social πŸ‘. #DevonBirds #UKBirding

The Mason Arms, Thrapston, Northamptonshire I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but Table Skittles as a pub and club game has fallen off a cliff in the part of Leicestershire/Northampt...

A rare blog post to test whether the laptop still works. Caution! Contains graphic imagery of Pub Games, Beer, and Northamptonshire…

Review of the Week: 27 October-2 November 2025 Miles Cluff reports on the best birds seen in Britain, Ireland and the Western Palearctic during the week of 27 October-2 November 2025. Siberian Rubythroat, Isabelline Shrike, two Oriental Turtle Doves, and Boat-tailed Grackle provided the week's big talking points.

Review of the Week: 27 October-2 November 2025

There were plenty of treats, including Siberian Rubythroat, Isabelline Shrike and two Oriental Turtle Doves, and a trick, in the form of a Boat-tailed Grackle. Miles Cluff reports:
