He might have got a decent run when Salah is away at AFCON but assuming Wirtz comes in he will really struggle for game time at any other point.

There is actually people who think Ange shouldn’t have been sacked! I can not get my head around that.

With the squad he had, finishing 17th is arguably the biggest underachievement of any Premier League team.

Should have easily got top 8 and would have done with a semi competent manager.

17th with that squad, he was very lucky to get the chance to manage them in the final.

They will probably sell Garnacho, Antony, Rashford, Sancho and maybe Mainoo this summer, which will raise some decent cash. More importantly for them for FFP purposes it is a lot of pure profit from the academy graduates.

8 of their last 10 were against teams in the bottom half of the table and the two top half teams they played finished 8th and 9th.

They didn’t play anyone from 1st to 7th in that run so not sure it says too much apart from they stopped the rot.

My feeling based on nothing is that Liverpool are trying to finalise a few outgoings as well as Wirtz/Kerkez to not weaken their negotiating position at either end.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Nunez, Elliott and Tsimikas are deals been worked on currently to get them finalised at a similar time.

I can’t believe it’s 6 years ago.

It was already about 30 degrees in Madrid and the day was a big party before an inevitable win.

What a team that was and we were 6 months or so into a period of 18 months were Liverpool were almost unbeatable and far and away the best team in the world.

13 league goals with no penalties is a decent effort last season.

Due to the timing they won’t really have pre season as the team will have a few weeks off after the club World Cup. This is their preseason time to get him integrated into the team and work on the new managers plans/formation etc.

You would have thought so but currently Liverpool wear Nike until 1st of August

That could be quite difficult as he will (fingers crossed) have played a few pre season friendlies in the Nike kit before the adidas kit is out

You can sign players anytime you want, just can’t register them until the transfer windows open
