Planxty - Planxty (1973)
Another great Irish debut album. Both the songs themselves and the delicate arrangements are brilliant. It's my second favourite black album. (The first is Back In Black.)

Rory Gallagher - Rory Gallagher (1971)
It's a pity that this album is not more popular. It's much more than a typical blues rock record. I can highly recommend it to everyone.

Sir Lord Baltimore - Kingdom Come (1970)
An excellent early heavy metal album. Very raw and aggressive with fast guitars and lots of distortion. It's relatively unknown today, but seemed to be influental. At least it was ahead of its time.

Nic Jones - Ballads And Songs (1970)
In the late 80s, I took a break from rock music and delved into British folk. I was lucky enough to find Nic Jones' albums in my record shop and was also wise enough to buy this and The Noah's Ark Trap. Today, they are extremely hard to find.

Stephen Stills - Stephen Stills (1970)
This is a very good album, but I prefer the CSN(Y) albums and Crosby's solo debut. Maybe it's a little bit too ambitious. Stills wanted too much and the result is uneven. However, it's the only album with both Hendrix and Clapton as guests.

Barefoot Jerry - Southern Delight (1971)
Progressive country rock from an almost unknown band of studio musicians. Wayne Moss, a leading member of the band, had played guitar and bass on Dylan's Blonde On Blonde.

I'm not sure. Light As A Feather is the second in the Wikipedia chronology of Return To Forever. The Chick Corea site chickcorea.com also says that the self-titled album is the debut.

The album cover of "Return To Forever" by Chick Corea. I think it is both, a solo album by Chick Corea and the debut album of Return To Forever.
Chick Corea - Return To Forever (1972)
A jazz rock masterpiece. It's the feather-light counterpart to the loud high-speed virtuosity of the Mahavishnu Orchestra, with flute instead of electric guitar. It also includes an incredibly beautiful pop song, sung by Flora Purim.

I once read about them in a book about rock music of the 70s. They were recommended by the author who wrote about hard rock. I looked for the LP for a while and bought the CD in recent years.

Samuel Prody was a British psychedelic (i.e. slightly progressive) hard rock band. This is their only album and for reasons unknown to me, it was only released in Germany.

Mahavishnu Orchestra - The Inner Mounting Flame (1971)
Probably one of the very best jazz rock albums. It's somehow heavy metal and mediative at the same time. The spirituality in the music is captivating, even for convinced non-believers like me.
