finally watched the kimipre movie!! it was amazing... having the singing parts with the fighting reminded me of macross!

tagging along with friend's game collab karaoke room reservation (but i'm singing kaiju 😂)

found a gigantic display for the clamp x godiva collab! i love their chocolatey costume designs

doing weeb stuff now that we're in the big city

bonus: spent a few days in yokohama and tokyo before our flight back home. we got a hotel room with a balcony and the moment i stepped out, i heard screams 😂 (there was an amusement ride nearby)

nagasaki mascot nyaga at the airport. there were so many cats in nagasaki!

had the black cat halloween drink (acai berry, dark chocolate and chocolate cat ears) at starbucks. the barista asked me what i liked about nagasaki and it caught me off guard so i blanked out and blurted out, "the cats!". got a good laugh out of that 😂

and that's the end of 11 days in kyushu! i had a wonderful time exploring the region and definitely hope to visit again in future (avoiding the hot weather next time...!)

got to see the cool buildings in huis ten bosch before the crowds came in

the famous three-tiered merry-go-round. there's a staircase inside which you can use to access the higher decks!

they may be known for their illumination, but i think i might prefer seeing huis ten bosch in the morning 😌

"halloween" fireworks turned out to be fireworks with alastor's insane playing in the background 😂😂 i was in disbelief at the intro (it took me a moment to process LOL)😂

moved to hotel amsterdam in huis ten bosch for our last night in kyushu. we were staying inside the theme park, and there were going to be fireworks for halloween at night!

entryway to glover garden. i didn't do much research about this place, but it's apparently a scottish merchant's home in the 19th century when nagasaki had just opened it's port for trade

lots of big old english-style buildings. people really did live lavish lives back then huh

this place also claims to be where western food first appeared in japan.

the guide also showed us photos of the island back in the day. this was a photo of how high the crashing waves can get during a typhoon.

at the end of the tour, you get a certificate to say that you've visited the island! it was a lovely souvenir to remember the trip by.

this cafe does a great quiche plate as well!! it's cafe kizuna near the glover garden in nagasaki, i really recommend it and would go back to nagasaki just for this someday 😂

glover garden was about 5 minutes away from the port by cab. nagasaki is surprisingly compact and easy to get around!

this boat took us to the island of hashima! there's a large standing deck in the center and seating areas on the front and back of the vessel.

getting close to the island! the island is actually called hashima, but was nicknamed gunkanjima because of it's warship like appearance.

if you like the aesthetic of abandoned places this is a must-go! got this pic of the old apartment complexes for the coal workers, with the island's lighthouse in the distance.

we were lucky enough to visit gunkanjima (the waves have to be within a certain height for disembarkation), an abandoned island in japan which used to be a coal mine right into the 70s. it was also a really hot day... and there was no shelter on the island 😂

nagasaki's city is built on a slope, which gives it this iconic look where you can see houses going all the way up the slope! if we had more time to explore, i would have liked to see the view from the high point 😌

but more importantly, it was 10th oct, the premiere date of the aikatsu x pripara movie! went to the nearest cinema first thing after checking in, and bought lots of merch for the crossover movie of the century 🥹

riding the high after the movie (wish we could have watched it more times!!), we got a cab to mount inasayama to see the city lights. if you zoom into the center of this pic, you might be able to see some lights in a heart-shape! ❤️

He loves plants, naps, and hanging out in parks on sunny days. He’s hung onto the same vintage car for 90 years. His everyday wear in 2023 includes a waistcoat and jacket. He likes cute goats.
