I also worked with [name] to finalize the layout of our Portal-port, so we can start setting it up!
I also did lots of set dressing! Here is out office and shop environments so far
I created blueprints for our candles to make it easier to place them and swap between models, as well as to indicate whether they are lit or not. I also got to have some fun with Niagara particles.
We have landed on a more simplified version of our textures using a trimsheet with blocks of colors and gradients. We started with 8 colors and have been slowly adding colors as needed.
This sprint, we focused on honing in the art style and updating all of our textures to match.
It's Dev Log time!
Here's what I did on our latest sprint for our game "Rags to Witches"!

Until next time!
Bonus post for UVs, everyone's favorite!
I then made a step-by-step breakdown of my Substance Painter file for my teammates to follow along with, so our textures moving forward can look cohesive.
I also made sure to set up our cauldron's potion textures to be able to change color based on what potion Runa is brewing.
Since this was my first time ever developing an art direction that I needed other people to follow, I thought it would be helpful to make an in depth breakdown of how I got my textures for the other artists on my team.
I had to start this process however with lots and lots of iterations.
These past two weeks, I focused on narrowing down and developing our style guide and how we want our textures to look.
I started by collecting some references.

What's next?
I am continuing to hone in on our style as we move on to the texturing for a few of our assets. I'm doing lots of research on what method will be the best choice for both the aesthetic we want and also for our shortened timeline.
Stay tuned, there is much more to come!
These next few models are all modular
The walls are your typical modular wall pieces that all snap together The candles are made to fit into any of the candle holders, regardless of their size. The bookcases can all fit together to easily create super big or small bookshelf at whatever size we need
Now for the fun stuff, modeling! I am currently working on the models for Runa's, our main character, office. This is where she will do all of her potion brewing and spellcasting, so it needs to have a very whimsical aesthetic.
At the same time, we were also brainstorming ideas for the studio branding and logo. I created the first little concept of our logo that Jet (@perpetualpilot.bsky.social) would perfect and turn into our current logo!
This was my first time ever creating an art bible, but it was a very fun challenge. It taught me a lot about how to better communicate the vision I have for a project, and how to break that down into something easy to understand and follow.
I worked with my team to decide on a style we all enjoyed, and then began work on the art bible we are using throughout the production of our game.
I am responsible for developing the game's visual style. Every project I do begins with a Pinterest board as I hone in on the idea and develop the style. This was no different!
