So many good ones! All of Carley Fortune’s are amazing and take place near beaches or lakes, and Annabel’s other books are all great! Others I’ve loved: Until Next Summer by Ali Brady, The Paradise Problem by Christina Lauren, Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez, basically all of Emily Henry’s!

The Girl Who Was Taken has what’s probably one of the best plot twists I’ve ever read!

Just finished a wonderful four-week GrubStreet writing course with the amazing @frecklywench.bsky.social! It was my first time back in a creative writing class since graduating with my MFA six years ago, and it felt so good to be learning and workshopping amongst writers again!! ☺️

Thanks for posting this! I’ve been working on a novel inspired by my experiences with postpartum depression, and I worry there isn’t a market for it. I just tell myself I’ll worry about that once the book is done, but I’m hoping maybe these sorts of topics will be a bit more normalized by then! 🙃

I just felt physically nauseous reading that account’s feed. There’s no worse feeling than scrolling and praying that the query you put so much time and thought into isn’t being made fun of behind your back.

My top two reads of the year so far are Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult and The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston! Veryyyy different books lol but both amazing! Also, I started a book club at my work last year and the unanimous fave of what we’ve read is Kill for Me, Kill for You by Steve Cavanagh!

Hope you’re not still on the elliptical 🤣 but if you’re still taking Qs— should a writer focus on one genre until they have an agent? I know agents may ask what you have in the pipeline, so I worry querying a contemp. romance while writing a thriller or women’s fiction might make me look unfocused.

Out of curiosity (genuinely… my book is a second-chance romance which I read is not your thing lol), if a writer queries when an agent is closed to subs, can they re-query the shared inbox when the agent opens to subs?

I’d love to know how the shared inbox at your agency works and what your thoughts are! Pros and cons? How does it work when certain agents are closed to queries at the time of a submission? Are there ever multiple agents who want the same book? Thanks!
