FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NYU Faculty Take Classes Off Campus to Protest Lack of Protections for International
Students
NEW YORK, April 17, 2025 - More than fifty NYU faculty members have taken their classes off campus starting today, and continuing for the next week, to protest the University's lack of commitment to protect international students in the face of the Trump administration's attacks. Some faculty have moved their classes to in-person locations that have been declared sanctuary spaces, where international students are assured that building administrators will do everything in their power to refuse to cooperate with ICE agents. Other faculty have moved their classes online so that students can attend from a safe location of their choosing.
This is how you do it.

The story of this election really is BSW and Linke. When Sahra Wagenknecht finally split off in 2023, the Linke was thought to be dead. In line with every pundit's favorite narrative, the new left-authoritarian version (BSW) would do well, while the left-progressive Linke that remained was doomed 1/

Thinking today of Elizabeth Tsurkov, whom I never met personally but who wrote for us on several occasions. She was for years a must-read analyst on Syria's civil war and the armed groups fighting it until Kataib Hezbollah took her hostage in Baghdad ~2 yrs ago. I hope her captivity also ends soon.

#Syria: The insurgency announced that its forces have taken the city of Homs in its entirety.
President Assad now only controls just a few cities in all of Syria.
It comes not long after KSA, Qatar + other Arab FMs met w/Iran, Turkey, and Russian officials in Doha.

It has snowed in Chicago and YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS! Time to remind everyone that we light our train tracks on fire to prevent the switches from freezing.

Trump’s Would-Be Lebanon Whisperer
With Donald Trump now on his way back to the White House, the Middle East is on tenterhooks about future U.S. policy. If Trump maintains the radical
Aoun, Geagea, Frangiyeh—Trump’s in-law Massad Boulos has dabbled in every conceivable Lebanese-Christian political constellation, but was most recently in the pro-Assad camp.
Now he seems to be positioning himself as an influence on Trump’s Middle East policy.
