A Full Moon is always a Sun/Moon opposition, a New Moon is always a Sun/Moon conjunction, the Quarter Moons square the Sun, etc.

The reason why we have Moon phases at all is because of the angular relationship between the Sun and the Moon. And astrology is the study of those relationships...

If you observe the phases of the Moon in your practice, you're already doing a form of astrological magick! Underpining the philosophy of astrology is the idea that the position of the planetary bodies either reflect and/or influence our lives on Earth, and the Moon is part of that.

One of the quirks of the Orphic Mysteries is its polycentric polytheism. While it may seem contradictory at first, the other Hymns declare different Gods to be the sole ruler or source of all the others. This is because each God "contains" all of the other Gods while maintaining their individuality!

Contemplative experience for Plotinus is the whole point of being alive. It’s the purpose of our healthy actions, and, as noted above, it’s the heart of Nature’s creating. It’s the heart of both Nature’s actions and of our own. Here I’m reminded of how the Cloud of Unknowing author had said, “it will be the main thing you do, in everything you do.” Plotinus writes: Action [praxis] ... is for the sake of contemplation and vision, so that for people of action too, contemplation is the goal.... (Enneads 3.8.6.1) It’s as though for Plotinus “existence” and “creation” are things that we’re to appreciate as being both nouns and verbs. Everything for him is creative. And as an example, the first line of this next quotation includes the Greek word genna, translated here as “produce.” It can also mean “generate” and “give birth”: when living things ... produce [genna] ... this is an activity [energeia] of contemplation ... and a kind of endless contemplation, for creating [poien] is bringing a form into being, and this is filling all things with contemplation. (3.8.7.20-23) For Plotinus everything is generative activity. Everything is contemplation. Everything is a creative poem.

The Acrostic Eye is the idea that as a Witch learns & practices their Craft the way we see, experience, & interact with the world changes. A simple concept, an essential truth in life even. One that can be carried over into other disciplines. As we learn & grow & act on it, we're changed.

When one God engages in another's domain or behaves in the essential manner of another, like Poseidon performing his kingly duties in the Sea as Zeus does in the Heavens, that act is something akin to an invocation; it's as if the two Gods intermingle or blend together.

Essentially, I see the Gods as both beings and modes of being. It's like they're both nouns *and* verbs; their being extends into their primary activity. They are what they are, and they are what they do.

Absolutely! In the Orphic Hymns, certain Gods are referred to by another's name. For example, Plouton is dubbed "Chthonic Zeus," Poseidon is "Zeus of the Salty Sea," and the Personal Daimon is...also Zeus! (There are also a few non-Zeus examples, as well.)
