Congress continues to introduce bills that would require voters to present documentary proof of citizenship to register and vote.

"The SAVE Act isn’t about election integrity; it’s about making it harder for specific groups of people to vote, like women & trans people. It’s voter suppression that perpetuates anti-immigrant misinformation."
In that way, for PA voters, you don’t need to worry about getting your ballot in any earlier - we’ve always recommended to try and mail your ballot back a week before Election Day or else drop off in an approved manner. This means the postmark change doesn’t affect our advice to PA voters.
Some states allow your ballot to arrive at the elections office after Election Day, as long as it is postmarked by that date. In PA, it doesn’t matter if your ballot is postmarked by Election Day - it has always needed to arrive at the elections office by 8 pm on Election Day to count.
Worried About the Postmark Changes and Your Mail-in Ballot? Relax!
The news about postmark changes does not affect PA mail-in voters.
PA Election Offices stamp your ballot with the time and date when they receive it. That's the date that counts.
