Divergent Threads

Well, I guess people don’t really want to hear what I have to say, which is fine I guess. I don’t really need to keep talking into the void. My experiences and opinions are one in millions of people. Spent forever trying to be interesting enough, glad I’m not chasing that anymore.

So we watched the Minecraft Movie today… this is a mom who played with my two sons over the last 5 years. We were all underwhelmed. I think they really thought Jack Black and some references were enough. We need a better one. 🤣🤣

I also got a foraging manual for my particular area, but not sure how legitimate it is. Knowing what native plants do is interesting, but also helpful.

I felt so weird looking up stuff for bug out bags, but you get it hoping you never need it. Living in Florida for 10 years, you just make sure you have something. Anyways, no shame in having some basic stuff, like a utility knife.

*water filter pitchers with spare filters
*kitchen towels and rags
*I just bought a bidet attachment for the toilet in case we ever run out of toilet paper again.
*obviously non-perishable foods/protein bars

Things I have gotten since 2020 to be prepared for who knows what:

*seeds/gardening manuals
*first aid/simple survival supplies
*generator
*portable ac
*batteries for gas fireplace
*grill
*battery operated lights, fans
*solar power chargers
*chargeable light bulbs
*lifestraw water bottle

I can’t fully communicate that there is danger in ableism in the way I am satisfied with in a way that is inclusive of the reality of racism. I guess maybe it’s better to say racism compounds every other kind of danger.

And as we have learned from many advocates in the disability justice movement: ableism is a tool of white supremacy that labels people as “dangerous, stupid and crazy” for the purpose of justifying violence. So stop using slurs! Unpack your insecurities! And don’t call the cops on a 15 year old.

With white men this lack of consistent fawning results in aggression, dominance, possible violence, but also SA, more dangerous. We need to talk about how AuDHD brings out people’s greatest insecurities and violence which is potentially deadly.

Please get into spaces with people you don’t usually interact with. On rednote we are talking to each other, sharing, learning and seeing more clearly beyond borders and power rifts in government. People have always existed together while a handful of assholes slap each other in castles.

I get the opposite I get cold snaps: my body starts shaking and I feel like I have the chills. I have to take a hot bath and keep Gatorade and energy bar near me at night in case I wake up at 2am freezing.

The rich hate upward mobility because it creates a class of people with resources and means that have not forgotten what it was like to be poor. They are trying to eliminate that. It messes with their exploitation attempts.

The worst things people assume about me also change based on who I interact with and what they consider the worst. If I’m with another white woman she feels threatened by my lack of fawning, I’m not one of the girls. I experience more bullying behavior. But I’m not seen as a threat to her life.

The problem is that it’s a regular experience that people assume if I’m not doing that labor that I’m a: liar, manipulative, shady, sneaky, rude, judgmental. Autistics get the worst assumptions from people *within their positioning*. So do ADHD ers: lazy, uncooperative, no focus, defiant.

At what point are people going to stop it with this “thinking the worst” crap when it comes to autistics, the behavioral scapegoats of society? Paired with racism it is literally life-threatening. Another child is harmed at the hands of police because people thought he was a threat. Smfh.

I understand that might seem like I see both sides as the same. They aren’t. But I spent enough of my life fighting people who didn’t want to hear me. I struggle still, because they are so loud. I believe we must make what is better louder. And that involves introspection and accountability.

I don’t say a lot about MAGA because I’m tired of trying to make something budge that won’t. So I focus on the parts of myself and others that are still salvageable. Still worth investing in. Especially when all they want is supply. Toxic.

Two crows that are building a nest have decided they are curious about our house specifically. One keeps perching on the bird feeder and looking in the window. I’m so honored! Crows are amazing.

I finished paying my college loans. 22 years. Got the good interest rate in 2003 before it went to hell. 22 years. One good thing in all of this mess.

Sheet was applied to plants, there wasn’t frost this morning. I think we survived 🤣

So we live in boxes, cubes of time, where money is exchanged as long as we fit. And then if you’re bigger than that, you have to convince people with even more money, that you need space. And if you get that space, everyone else resents you because they also need more space. No one fits the box.

I’m apparently the kind of person people regularly feel like they can pile on or judge. They do weird crap and then make it all mine to carry. And if I say anything back, it’s clearly my fault. No matter what. ND doesn’t mean “do whatever you want to me”.
