Without a doubt, I'm really quite enthusiastic. It's one of those @tcboyle.com stories that I adore. I'm sure I'll be taking this novel off the shelf more than once in the coming years.

Meine spontane Entscheidung zu diesem Buch hat sich gelohnt, auch als Recherche. Nicht nur der Uhren wegen, ich habe von Uhrmacherinnen erfahren, die es im 18. Jahrhundert eigentlich nicht geben durfte. Ein paar Spuren des Inhalts finden sich in »Opfergang«. 😉

Unter dem Eindruck der Novemberpogrome 1938, die er beobachtete, engagierte er sich zeitlebens als erklärter Pazifist gegen Nationalismus und Antisemitismus.

Here it is. The new novel from @tcboyle.com: No Way Home. The German edition will be officially released on September 16, while the original English version won't be out until spring 2026. Anyway, I'm off now, busy. I'll post my book review on e-script.de at the beginning of October.

¹ — This is a language experiment: since I don't know the English text passage, I translated the German back into English. It would be interesting to compare the original text with the double translation 🙃
