FYI I think this sentence is outdated? The CoS has implemented a number of on-street share bike parking spaces:
“..take parking spaces from cars for the corralled storage of shared bikes off the footpaths…Sadly, after some 8 years of shared bikes in the City of Sydney, this has yet to happen.”

Sydneysiders, have you ever noticed the wide stroads and one-way heavy traffic when you drive between Redfern and Green Square? This project has a name, and the streetscape doesn't have to be this way jakecoppinger.com/2026/02/have...

Why Won’t the Media Report Accurately on Road Deaths? - Jake Coppinger Yesterday, a man in his 30s riding a Lime e-bike, motor-limited to 25km/h, was struck by a 28-year-old man driving a garbage truck at Little Regent Street and Broadway, Ultimo – and died at the scene....

And an absolutely data filled, painstakingly researched piece by @jakecoppinger.bsky.social on the same topic.

Even the left wing media is failing us in these conversations, and doing a disservice to the victims by not even questioning car culture narrative.

There have been misleading articles on pedestrian and cyclist road deaths recently. Some have “...suggested that e-scooters and e-bikes played a significant part in the rise in pedestrian deaths”, when “...fatalities were in fact the riders of e-scooters” (ABC)

Arc, the first browser by The Browser Company of New York, dies at three An obituary for the Arc browser from a current user

I’d been using the Arc browser daily since it was invite-only, so The Browser Company confirming it’s effectively dead still stings.

I really admired Arc for how much thought and craft went into it. So I wrote an obituary for my favourite browser:

This week is National Road Safety Week. 50 people walking are killed on NSW roads and streets every year and this figure is trending up. Many of these people are killed taking risks to cross streets because signal wait times are too long.

The change to our traffic lights that could make you happier For years, pedestrians have had to wait for cars to cross a street. But what if it was the other way round – and would it improve our experience of cities?

My project Better Intersections is in The Sydney Morning Herald today!

"The push for improved walking spaces came to a head in 2023 when Sydney software engineer Jake Coppinger began crowdsourcing a survey of the worst pedestrian wait times at local intersections."
