🐁 Bakumi Hannaka 爆美判中 (ばくみ はんなか) Species: Kodama-nezumi Ability: Creating explosive lanterns BLEH! "Even that overconfidence is like those foolish hunters." Bakumi: "Dunno why things had to change. Showering humans in viscera just doesn't do the trick like it used to, y'know." Suwako: "Girl we GOTTA get you out more."

- like with prior series characters, her more unusual traits wouldn't be depicted exactly as described - what do you do with a mouse that FUCKING explodes? current idea: always carries mouse-shaped paper lanterns that burst into danmaku- might be a fun way to tie into her constant presence on the mountains and gives her a fun "bomber" visual that would still feel in line with the setting - hair on left side, scarf on right side - round skirt-shape and frills call to mind the bursting bodies of the kodama-nezumi. fleshly-colored marking accentuate this. eeyuck. - scarf like a tongue, or maybe an intestine? - lots of jagged and torn-looking frills to give a "fleshy" look. laces and seams evoke surgical stitches. - trying for slight "tobi shokunin" elements- japanese construction worker attire- because of her explosive-oriented powers. has a belt and small hat meant to look like a tiny hardhat. it also is meant to evoke a brain!! - doesn't actually do anything related to demolition, though, so important not to make the image too strong. - two main visual motifs are "guts" and "bombs". grisly ideas but ntm on the imagery. this is touhou, after all! - has suwako's hat eyeballs as a design motif to draw attention to their connection - combined with other elements the eyeballs are also recontextualized under the more grisly motif of mouse innards - sideswept look. very wavy hair texture. i really like ZUN's koishi! - small asymmetrical elements to keep things WEIRD and dissonant - boots? boots are cute. shoe fasteners look like gashes with stitches. it'll be sick - to glasses or not to glasses? decided that she's "old" for her kind, so it'd be a pretty clear shorthand for wisdom, much like with mamizou. though she certainly isn't all that wise, and she's only older by a few minutes, anyway. more importantly, glasses are cute.
