I've started a starter pack for academics and organizations focused on the #19th century! I'm sure I have missed many, many people (I was trying to get this started quickly) — comment below if you want to be added.

Nosferatu isn't out until January 1 in the UK, so please no spoilers for a remake of a movie that came out in 1922 that I have seen, based on a book that came out in 1897 that I have read. thanks

Paul’s talk reminded me of my visit last year to the museum of Jim, Missouri’s official state Wonderdog. Jim’s memorial garden includes a rainbow bridge & statue. His grave was originally just outside of the cemetery (he was refused burial there) but after the cemetery expanded it included his plot.

Thoroughly enjoyed the Morbid Anatomy online lecture/talk tonight by Paul Koudounaris on pet cemeteries. Some astonishing, funny, and deeply touching tales from the history of pet mourning. Looking forward to getting my paws on his book on the subject.

Lifting the Lid International Festival of Death & Dying 2024 Lifting the Lid, an annual online festival held from November 15-17, 2024, featured over 60 sessions exploring death and dying through discussions, workshops, and performances. Founded by Victoria Keen and Jo Dagless, this volunteer-run event fosters a supportive community, encouraging open conversations about grief and loss, highlighting innovative approaches in the field.

Had the best time 'attending' Lifting the Lid festival this past weekend. Such interesting discussions, challenging topics, and innovative approaches being presented.
