Had to get snippy with them, b/c I've been getting blood drawn every 6 months to a year since 2011, due to my heart disease. Told them just use my left arm. She insisted that they had to start at the hand in case they couldn't find a vein. When I showed them my arm, she said, "Oh, see it already." 🤦♂️
This is true. Just got my first one at 52 last week. Worst part about the day of the procedure was them having to poke me three times to find a vein for the IV.
there are so many things we have to fix about the american healthcare system but one of the biggest ones is opening up screenings and preventative care earlier and for free. early detection saves lives full stop and it should be an option for everyone.
