I was recently reading some congressional hearing transcripts from the 1950s and the Jewish representative from New York was the only one to question the interviewee (a Virginia TV station owner) on whether he would allow conversations on integration to air.

Media studies folks! Can anyone recommend a short, accessible-to-first-years reading that introduces the historical periods generally referred to as TV I, TV II, and TV III?
