09.10.2025 18:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The paper copy won't be ready until next spring... this is the early access release. When hardcopy is available I'm pretty sure it will be stocked by the online book sellers - and it should be orderable by your local bookshop.
08.10.2025 12:48 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Our 40+ automation patterns have been crowd-sourced from the #BDD community and are presented in a language agnostic fashion. Examples in the main text of the book will use #Reqnroll, but we document variations for other ports of #Cucumber in the appendices (and in the example code on the website).

GΓ‘spΓ‘r Nagy and I are very happy to announce that our new book, Effective Behavior-Driven Development, is now available from Manning: hubs.la/Q03L7kXM0
This book includes updated content previously self-published in The BDD Books Series along with an all new section, BDD Automation Patterns.
I'm looking forward to this retro on UML in Edinburgh next week. Free entry; drinks and pizza.

It's strange how bits of UML are still used widely, but that you never really hear it mentioned.

Problem solved after moving nameservers to Cloudflare+turning on AI crawler blocking.
Site monthly outbound data back to ~40GB per month, down from 800GB (!!) No impact on human visitors

And "high maintenance" isn't far from "unmaintainable" either.

07.04.2025 11:50 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Framing modernization : short vs long term benefits
Align on trade offs : is not long vs short but many different options in the possible trade offs
Fear and hope : show what you would like to see as results and what you fear will happen in inaction
Ongoing vigilance : fighting every day to put pressure towards modernization
To fight against the gravity of anti-modernization @nick-tune.me proposes an anti-FAFO framework :
Framing
Aligning
Fear & Hope
Ongoing struggle
[editorβs note : by an extreme coincidence that happens to be a very common approach to fighting for social change !]

John Seddon's "Systems Thinking in the Public Sector" is a much more enjoyable read than the title might lead you to believe. And just as relevant today as it was when it was published in 2008.
