Their gas masks sit beside them, wires spread out. Vials of antidote, for whatever poison's in the air of this future far-away world, lay broken in front of them. The bags are ransacked, still containing other untouched vials. One of the skeletons have a large rip in its suit, blood having dried into a dark stain. It's here where it all went wrong, where a small tear destroyed one body, despite the efforts of their companion. Unknowing of what monsters lay beyond, but sure of a sunrise they'll have to walk alone, the companion decided to stay, to take off their mask and whatever protection they have, and see their last sunrise together in a desolate world. The remaining vials lay untouched for anyone to find in the future. For now, the glow of a new day basks the two as they sleep together.
