Fairfax County becomes 1st Virginia school district to start using FBI background check program - WTOP News Fairfax County Public Schools has started using the FBI’s Rap Back continuous background check program, which is expected will enhance current safety protocols.

It's finally here -- after years of School Board advocacy, FCPS is the first school division in Virginia to adopt the FBI’s Rap Back continuous background check system, which provides instant notification of employee arrests, strengthening protections for students and staff.

Last night, I joined my Board colleague, Dr. Ricardy Anderson, at Falls Church High School for a community meeting about the upcoming renovation of the school's athletic facilities. We are incredibly grateful for everyone's engagement as we work together to modernize the school's athletic complex.

Last night, we honored Joe Swarm, Marshall High School’s retiring Director of Student Activities, by renaming the main gymnasium as the Joseph D. Swarm Gymnasium. He devoted more than 30 years of service to Marshall, leaving a lasting impact on generations of students. We are incredibly grateful.
