Oof. Shit like this is why I barely touch AI to begin with (I've used it to make silly lyrics for parody versions of songs, twice ever, but even then it fucks up the rhymes and meter - and this was only ever for my amusement).

All the above said, I loved it, just have some "well, I'd have done it differently" thoughts. :) I've even bought the follow-on comic books.

I just think it would have led to some more satisfying conclusions.

Avatar stories are often about making good choices, and seeing that struggle to tamp down her impulsive nature and consider ramifications of her actions would be one hell of a character growth arc.

I'm not saying "woman must be submissive" though - NEVER that! - but knowing that your first impulse isn't always the right one is something Aang had to go through too, just from a different angle, and it was always a great story and lead to him growing and maturing.

Heck, a character arc with her struggling to do exactly that would be compelling as heck! Aang had a leg up, starting as a monk, in that regard, and it'd be something we'd never seen before.

I'd loved to have seen her start as the same arrogant young woman, but really internalize the more self-aware aspects of the Avatar as she mastered the 4 elements and the spiritual side of being the Avatar, instead of just adopting them when needed then reverting to base as she often did.

So yeah - I'm sure some folks didn't like the series because of Korra was a woman of color, but others had, I believe, reasonable criticisms.

I understand, though disagree with, some of the other criticisms of the series: the more modern setting being jarring, the pacing being weird, the spiritual themes being more shallow... I can see why some would think that - but disagree.

I'm not saying she didn't struggle (she *ABSOLUTELY* did!) but getting handed that kind of power as a child sort of reeked of "hey you just figured out you have force powers 20 minutes ago and now you're going to solo this trained Jedi" vibes.

Another point would be the introduction of Korra: she'd already figured out, on her own, 3 of the 4 bending types as a child, whereas Aang needed to find teachers. She had a bit of a Mary Sue thing going on there: growth through struggle makes more compelling characters.

I think it's more than just "brown woman" - I LOVED Legend of Korra even more than TLA, but there are some understandable criticisms of it.

TLA had a well balanced "Team Avatar" for example... and in LOK it seems 70% of the focus was on Korra, excluding her teammates to a great degree. (continued)

I'm in agreement. I wish it could've been Cavil in the suit, but Corenswet did great, and I have no complaints

Been playing far too much Dune Awakening recently.

It's good fun, needs more endgame content though. The weekly Landsraad competition isn't enough to keep me hooked for ages.

Collecting *ALL THE SPICE* and becoming a sci-fi coke fiend is kinda fun tho - picture related.

Agreed - I think it's good on its own but with the context of the characters and the plot, it was both triumphant and a tear-jerker.

I went into it expecting something seriously silly, and instead I had tears in my eyes at the end.
