Its a nice destination not-too-far ride from Mtl/Longueuil St-jean-Sur-Richelieu. Keep going and you reach NYC!
fun fact: The Carignan section was moved one block south to locate a school where the path (Route Verte #1) had originally been located through fields.
New historical plaque in Montreal's Little Burgundy (Petite-Bourgogne).
it was a historically black neighbourhood, and among others, jazz giant Oscar Peterson was born here.

The one on the ground was literally 150 feet from the trailhead and the garbage can.
I picked up all three I found, and carried them on the bike, in my hand.

You missed your chance to run for municipal office in the last election.
The provincial election is coming up, you are welcome to run for office and test this idea out on the population, see how much they like it.
Or as they say, at least get it into the conversation.

One of our all-time favourite bike ride destinations is Powerscourt's Pont Percy historic covered bridge over the Chateauguay river, where it enters Canada from New York State.
The bridge has a complete A-Z renovation a couple decades ago, here are before and after pictures.

Parc de la Mauricie's 62 km parkway road in 2007 before and in 2025 after the a-z roadway rebuilding project.
This another excellent reminder of the good things that happened during the Prime Minister Justin Trudeau era.

Boat locks on the very excellent Chambly Canal bike path.
Note the very small lock-keepers house.

Bicycle & active transportation infrastructure.
It cross a bunch of railroad tracks.
Famously for many years when you crossed the Pont Jacques Cartier bridge to the south shore in Longueuil on bicycle and arrived back on street level, there was no map, no directions, no nothing.
Bonne chance!

some people carry around a post-ring that they lock to the post's ring.
It doesn't make any sense but I've seen it more than once.

It's a ring mounted on a parking meter post (now a parking-spot-number post).
imo it was a real revolution bc suddenly, literally overnight, there were a 1000 new secure bike parking places in the urban center.
A safe secure place to lock your bike is always a problem, and these were the solution.👍
I note here that Montreal's Le Taz skateboard park at one time had a pumptrack, but the city of Montreal said that if you want funding from us, the pumptrack has to go.
And gone it is.
