Long running drag act, played by Rex Jameson. Progressed via 1950s BBC radio shows and TV into the clubs. Once saw Morrissey at Manchester Arena and he showed archive film of Mrs Shufflewick before he came on, I suspect to the bemusement of almost everyone but me!

With Douglas Byng, the UK’s ‘High Priest of Camp,’ Thesiger had previously appeared in a drag double act in the ‘Oranges and Lemons’ sketch of Noël Coward’s ‘On with the Dance.’ The two co-starred in ‘Cochran’s Revue,’ as well.

Seeing in the New Year as Captain James Hook in Weymouth...discovered a very fine hat, see breezes and a hook are not a great combo in the run up to midnight! Did rescue the hat from the sea at one point!!!
