Unfortunately logistically that’s not really possible for me, given I have another full time job outside of being a legislator. But I try to be as available as possible and I appreciate all the folks who reach out!

I can't answer questions 2 and 3, but re: question 1 -- I know there were wage and labor guidelines put into the bidding process for the final contractor. But agree, big concerns.

Really appreciate the expertise of Rep Janice Zahn on this committee, she's a legislator who also works at the Port so she knows a *lot* about these big expensive construction bid projects. #waleg

Lots of questions from the legislators about the Florida partnership. I would use the word skepticism. #waleg

I have serious concerns about the viability of this partnership with a shipyard in Florida to do all of this work. I definitely wanted a WA builder to be chosen. But we're here now. #waleg

The first of these vessels is going to cost $405 million, though hopefully as we go along, we'll learn and get more efficient. $255 million of that is the cost of building and $150 million is the equipment needed to run the boat and the engineering services. #waleg

Busy legislative work day today, kicking off with a meeting SDOT Director Emery. Talked about all the good stuff we want to work on together (South Holgate, Ballard Bridge, Interbay, Aurora, and more!) and good ways to partner. Her deep knowledge and safety focus is such an asset to the city!

Delighted to be here in the “Quad Cities” (shout out West Richland) for the Joint Transportation Committee meeting. Saw some awesome roundabouts today, which may not seem that exciting but they’ve lead to a major reduction in crashes across the area! #waleg

Paying $9 to park at USCIS Tukwila, was less of a proud moment.

Today I got to watch one of my closest friends raise her right hand and take the oath of citizenship. It was a very proud moment, despite everything going on in our country and world, it was beautiful to see so many people of all ages, races, and faiths, take this step together.
