I got overwhelmed looking for pictures, because I broke my old phone a few months after we lost our last pup.

They were our babies before our babies. On our laps or our bed for 18 years. Can't say much more without blubbering.

I was genuinely embarrassed by missing things in myself for decades that I would spot in a student within minutes. Like most late-ID’d folks, I had to reevaluate my life experiences through a new lens. Aaaaallll of Those Things weren’t my “fault.”

I *know* I need to. More and more things I've been blinking and double-checking. Painting my first minis with the right materials last night and I got a headache.

Every problem you have with ADHD, a vampire would have magnified a hundredfold.

Imagine going on a tangent and discovering you'd spent 400 years forgetting to pay your taxes.

I will face my enemies, but have known too many years of battles already, and must first consult the healer to obtain glasses 🤪

After 3 years of fighting, arguing for equitable opportunity for my students, we have a new curriculum director who listened, and fought along side me.

$5400 of calculators that other districts require their families to buy, but is still decades-outdated technology.

I understand that sentiment, and you are correct.

We tore up the roots we finally let ourselves have to flee the rising wave of <all the shit> that went from quiet to loud-and-proud in South Dakota. It cost us so much, only to have it go national. The thing we ran from only got bigger.

I felt particularly foolish, because things I would spot in a student within minutes, I had been rationalizing away (of self-blame) for 35 years. I could feel my attention and executive function struggling like a physical sensation once I stopped suppressing the rest of me. 2/2
