No I don't think I ever discussed it with you. I'd half-forgotten about it since it's from 2016/2017 I think? Definitely an abandoned project from the before times.

Since I wrote the initial draft the author has of course produced more work, some of it more major than what I focused on in that draft, and now I wonder whether I should return to it, update it, or if it is even worth releasing in some way. (Let alone finding a publisher.)

I have this longstanding work on political aesthetic philosophy, about an author I think is theoretically important, that I started working on years ago, got the rough draft up to 30,000+ words, and then stopped because I didn't know where it was heading a few years before lockdown…

As always, love your books. I was a little sad after the Jade Daniels trilogy (which I loved like my review for Strange Horizons proclaimed haha) was over, but you outdid my expectations with this one. Best vampire novel I've read in a long time.

I think, due to general theoretical/historical illiteracy, people think it means cynicism, nihilism, or whatever the accelerations are on about, rather than refusing to fight for imperialist armies against imperialist armies. If they understood its context in WW1 they wouldn't write such silly stuff

That is true, but then I reminded myself that imperialists give asinine names to their weapons and operations all the time. But at the very least it show the energy extraction and labour required to create a planet-killing weapon.
