In general, Rome did not persecute Christians, though Diocletian did.

Tacitus writes that Nero blamed the Christians, but not that Nero was wrong. Tacitus was a little boy at that time. Tacitus did write scathing remarks about the Christians. They were not good people.

It started very early, in the 2nd century, though it didn't get real imperial power until Constantine.

Now do the Russian Orthodox Church endorsing Putin's war in Ukraine, which is killing orders of magnitude more Christians than any protest in Yumbe.

Or, do Israel killing Christians in Palestine, and Lebanon.

Well, that's the thing with something like Bsky: it is the modern-day version of the public square.

You never know who you'll run into, and what interactions you will have.
