1/2 We’re launching a Steering Group to bring together local WFI groups + the National Committee, creating stronger links, better communication, and shared decision-making. 💬💜

✨ Local groups can send up to 2 reps (flexible + changeable). ✨ Real power for local voices to help shape our direction.

We learn today that Labour’s welfare compromise will STILL send 150,000 people into poverty.

Just think about that - a Labour Government voluntarily chooses to increase poverty. Scotland is taking a different course thanks to the SNP. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

What we generate is being taken from us. In an independent Scotland, we have an opportunity to have a full say in how we trade or export anything coming from Scotland with the required legislation and policies we should be able to design and implement in our own parliament.

There is no need for Westminster controlled England to sneak in because due to this unfair system of a union, England is entitled to take from Scotland this way, and not pay us for it.

Exporting would mean that there is a financial transaction where Scotland benefits. That is not the case. Westminster takes Scotland’s resources and operates on an England first policy (through practise). We need indy.

An indy Scotland won’t rule out trading with our nearest neighbour -England.

Sir Geoff Palmer, Scotland's first black professor, dies aged 85 Sir Geoff moved to the UK from Jamaica as a teenager and became known as both an academic and a human rights advocate.

Sir Geoff Palmer was a pioneer and an outstanding intellectual. He had a hugely positive impact on Scotland and will be sorely missed. My sympathy to his family.

Really sad to hear of the passing of Sir Geoff Palmer. A brilliant social justice and equalities activist, he used his skills in education to make lasting change. Rest in peace Sir Geoff Palmer. My thoughts are with his family. His legacy will never be forgotten. 🕊️

I really like this image being shared by a number of accounts! A brilliant visual representation of our current situation in this union. Sad reality for us. We absolutely need Scottish independence to change this!!!

I don’t know who made this image to give credit. They did a good job!

I was invited to appear on GB News to comment on the Reform UK MP attempting to ban the burqa. I respectfully declined. However, the wider issue remains. Burqa or bikini -how about we stop telling women what to wear?

I was glad to sign this letter -thanks to Lesley Riddoch and Gordon MacIntyre-Kemp for uniting people and Yes groups on Scotland’s right to self-determination. By denying a second referendum, regardless of 2026, the PM is ignoring democracy. This can’t be called a voluntary union!

Wee gift from me to @theSNP - the flag Winnie Ewing flew from her train down to Westminster after her famous 1967 Hamilton by-election victory. “Stop the world - Scotland wants to get on.” The flag I donated is now at party HQ in Edinburgh.

Nigel farage shaking hands with some white guy in the foreground, slightly blurry. In the background between them, in focus, I'm standing there with a sign saying 'Reform are no friends of ours' (the 'o' in 'ours' is a wheelchair symbol). Behind me is Aberdeen harbour. Nigel farage blurred in the immediate foreground, looking right. In the background, in focus, I'm standing there with a sign saying 'Reform are no friends of ours' (the 'o' in 'ours' is a wheelchair symbol). Next to me is a big suited security guard making sure I don't get to Nigel. Behind me is Aberdeen harbour.

Been a weird day!

Life of a disability activist: protest, hospital appointment, back to protest, appointment at a different hospital to help someone else. Then hobble to bed.

Farage was in town.
