Where does the time go? On this day last year I left Newcastle on my first cruise.

En-route to Dover, then it's on the ship to Norway!

Akureyri today, visiting Goðafoss Waterfall and the Botanical Garden. I really didn't need to bring any sweaters! Note: added the photo when I got back to the ship.

Another day, another port. Today it's Isafjordur.

Amazing tour today, Golden Circle 😀 Geysir, Gollfoss Waterfall, and Thingvellir National Park (not sure about the spelling)

Very foggy today, so haven't been able to walk around the deck to see if there's a speck of land in the distance. Thank goodness for seabirds!

Current weather forecast for Saturday's arrival in Reykjavik (according to the ship's information board) is sunny and pleasantly warm 🌞

In Yorkshire for an overnight stop en-route to Port of Tyne, then off to Iceland!

When I visited Norway in October, I bought a Christmas bauble with a Norwegian-knitwear pattern, and on my return I was determined to find another that reminded me of the Northern Lights (the tree lights help with the effect):

Returned from Norway yesterday - loved it! Next adventure will be Iceland in May 😀

Definitely worth spending two hours freezing in the countryside near Alta, Norway, last night. The lights made another appearance after we returned to the ship, so it was a very successful evening.

Had a wonderful afternoon at the theatre in Dartford - an audience with  David Suchet. Rather appropriately the Orient Express passed through the station while we were waiting for our train 😀

Hi Dan, I mainly write in the supernatural/horror genre, but have the frst drafts of two crime novels written as well (one is set in the 1500s). I'm hoping to make a start on an old idea in the next couple of months, but have some flash and microfiction to work on first.
