Merry Christmas! The tree is part of Ightham Mote's display, A Timeless Christmas.
Hope the presentation went well!
Where does the time go? On this day last year I left Newcastle on my first cruise.
En-route to Dover, then it's on the ship to Norway!
Akureyri today, visiting GoΓ°afoss Waterfall and the Botanical Garden. I really didn't need to bring any sweaters! Note: added the photo when I got back to the ship.
Somewhere near the Arctic Circle, 11.08pm.
Another day, another port. Today it's Isafjordur.
Amazing tour today, Golden Circle π Geysir, Gollfoss Waterfall, and Thingvellir National Park (not sure about the spelling)
Very foggy today, so haven't been able to walk around the deck to see if there's a speck of land in the distance. Thank goodness for seabirds!
Current weather forecast for Saturday's arrival in Reykjavik (according to the ship's information board) is sunny and pleasantly warm π
In Yorkshire for an overnight stop en-route to Port of Tyne, then off to Iceland!
Merry Christmas everyone! π
Happy Christmas everyone! #JoinIn
When I visited Norway in October, I bought a Christmas bauble with a Norwegian-knitwear pattern, and on my return I was determined to find another that reminded me of the Northern Lights (the tree lights help with the effect):
So pleased that you're here!
Returned from Norway yesterday - loved it! Next adventure will be Iceland in May π
Definitely worth spending two hours freezing in the countryside near Alta, Norway, last night. The lights made another appearance after we returned to the ship, so it was a very successful evening.
Inside the Arctic Circle. A small whale appeared a few minutes after this photo was taken.
Atlantic Ocean Road today, crossing the Arctic Circle tomorrow:
It's gonna be chilly tomorrow ...
The North Sea's a bit choppy this morning, en route to Norway.
Haven't been online for ages, so lots of catching up to do π
Had a wonderful afternoon at the theatre in Dartford - an audience withΒ David Suchet. Rather appropriately the Orient Express passed through the station while we were waiting for our train π
How could I possibly resist!
Congratulations!

Thank you π It's a historical fiction setting, partly based on where I live and a few other places in the county.
Hi Dan, I mainly write in the supernatural/horror genre, but have the frst drafts of two crime novels written as well (one is set in the 1500s). I'm hoping to make a start on an old idea in the next couple of months, but have some flash and microfiction to work on first.
Happy New Year and congratulations on being published! π₯
