Gay HIV+ athlete Jim Howley remembered on World AIDS Day - Outsports Tributes have been paid in recent months to the remarkable Jim Howley, whose endurance exploits in the 1990s earned him countless admirers.

In 1989, Jim Howley learned he had developed AIDS. Doctors told him he had 18 months left to live.

Incredibly, 7 years later, Howley completed the #Ironman triathlon, inspiring other HIV+ athletes worldwide.

I called them out - not an easy or safe thing to do, especially as a woman in that environment

But once I did, others turned and stared them down

They went quiet after that

Man Utd fan gets 3-year ban after homophobic post about Chelsea - Outsports A supporter of the Premier League club says he’s been handed a three-year suspension for a discriminatory social media post.

The prospect of a three-year ban is a strong deterrent from Man Utd for fans using discriminatory language, including on social media.
