The India history keeps coming with Team USA. Harmeet Singh shone in the 2012 U19 World Cup (wickets in the quarters and semis, ran out Travis Head in the final), but he and Saurabh Netravalkar both played for India at the one before that in 2010.

For all the West Indies had done in the #T20WorldCup, theyโ€™d never taken a hat-trick - now they have!

Romario Shepherd joins Brett Lee, Ekta Bisht, Anya Shrubsole, Curtis Campher, Wanindu Hasaranga, Kagiso Rabada, Karthik Meiyappan, Josh Little, Pat Cummins (twice) & Chris Jordan on the list.

Oliver Davidsonโ€™s last bowl in a โ€˜liveโ€™ game was in a club game for Carlton in Edinburgh. That was in August - now heโ€™s bowled his first over for his country, in a #T20WorldCup, at Eden Gardens.

Despite its best efforts to get in its own way, cricket can be great.

One thing thereโ€™s no doubt on is Bangladeshโ€™s fans make every tournament a brighter & more engaging spectacle, and theyโ€™ll be missed. Wonder who theyโ€™ll adopt for this one?

Gotta be weird for Scotland too, getting Denmark 92-d in at the shortest possible notice.

ICC replaces Bangladesh with Scotland at T20 World Cup due to BCB refusal to play in India Decision comes after Bangladesh refused to change its stance following ICC board meeting

www.espncricinfo.com/story/icc-re...

So itโ€™s done. Itโ€™s quite something that the Bangladesh government wouldnโ€™t permit the BCB to back down even with a #T20WorldCup spot at stake.

The ICC talk about not wanting to set a precedent or undermine their neutrality, butโ€ฆthat shipโ€™s sailed, no?

3 tons & 6 fifties in his last 20 ODI innings. Through the 2023 Asia Cup to the start of the World Cup, he scored 100 & two 90s in just over a month.

He's also scored 3 consecutive ducks and 3 ducks in 5, in 2 separate blocks, 5 years apart. The baffling career of Kusal Mendis.

22.01.2026 12:25 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Meanwhile, the ICC press release ignores all of this reality and says that the tournament โ€˜will proceed as scheduled with Bangladeshโ€™s matches to be played in India.โ€™

Thereโ€™s no mention of the possible expulsion of Bangladesh or their replacement by Scotland.

Donโ€™t ever tell me that sport isnโ€™t political. That isnโ€™t a comment on the rights and wrongs of Bangladeshโ€™s situation, which is complex to say the least - itโ€™s an acknowledgement of reality.

Expecting a warm reception at the Emirates for Renee Slegers given her new contract, and maybe an even bigger one for Smilla Holmberg if she gets on. Thereโ€™s going to be a desire to show she really is welcome after the disgusting comments left on her signing video, a โ€˜not in our nameโ€™

Editing for video also means you canโ€™t properly edit for audio without making the video horribly jumpy, or using a lot of irrelevant B-roll. So you end up with every um and erm and weird distracting mouth noise still in the finished product.

The longest Test innings where @acscricket.bsky.social know for certain balls faced is Len Huttonโ€™s then-world record 364 at the Oval in the 1938 Ashes. He faced 847 balls.

The entire Boxing Day Test lasted 853 balls.

Tongue, by the way, seems to like bowling at Smith. Heโ€™s got him out 3 times in 3 Test innings, at an average of 11.7 - no bowler whoโ€™s bowled as many balls at him has a better average.

Ollie Popeโ€™s position was untenable, but batting 3 and taking no form into the Boxing Day Test at 3-0 down is a tough gig for Jacob Bethell.

With Jofra Archer now injured, the pace attack now looksโ€ฆitโ€™s too quick to be popgun, but it doesnโ€™t scream reliable or consistent.

Questions of accuracy arise as Washington Post uses AI to create personalized podcasts The Post calls the podcast an "AI-powered tool" that turns its articles into an audio news digest.

I'm old enough to remember when the Post launched its first podcast, which was just a person โ€” an actual human, not a bot โ€” reading one of the stories in that day's paper. That person was me.

I learned on Saturday that Bari Weiss spiked our story, INSIDE CECOT, which was supposed to air tonight. We (Ori and I) asked for a call to discuss her decision. She did not afford us that courtesy/opportunity.
Our story was screened five times and cleared by both CBS attorneys and Standards and Practices. It is factually correct. In my view, pulling it now-after every rigorous internal check has been met is not an editorial decision, it is a political one.
We requested responses to questions and/or interviews with DHS, the White House, and the State Department. Government silence is a statement, not a VETO. Their refusal to be interviewed is a tactical maneuver designed
to kill the story.

CBS spiked the Jeffrey Wigand interview due to legal concerns, nearly destroying the credibility of this broadcast. It took years to recover from that "low point." By pulling this story to shield an administration, we are repeating that history, but for political optics rather than legal ones.

Ben Stokes has produced some of the most astonishing cricket youโ€™ll ever see.

But his overall, everyday batting is sorely lacking middle gears. If he had even a bit of Root or Smithโ€™s ability to knock good balls into gaps and get singlesโ€ฆbut instead, itโ€™s grim stonewalling or furious destruction.
