What’s more, though we only asked Grok to provide an address for a specific name in our testing, the chatbot frequently came back with a dossier of other information we didn’t ask for — including current phone numbers and emails, as well as accurate lists of family members and their addresses.
Something else that was striking was Grok's habit of giving us a bunch of possibly identifying information we didn't ask for, like extensive details about someone's work and family -- sometimes even providing lists of likely family members and *their* addresses.

My employer, Dartmouth College, today boasts it's 1st Ivy "to launch AI at an institutional scale." It is doing this by partnering--"more than a collaboration"--with Anthropic, a company that stole the books of many faculty, me included, which many of us are suing.

Good afternoon from Chicago's federal courthouse. In about 15 minutes the 7th Circuit appellate court will hear arguments in the Castañon Nava settlement case; the settlement agreement limits when and how immigration agents can conduct warrantless.

How to Win Red States With a Labor Party
We can take political power without asking Democrats for it.
Labor Party as a Green Party-esque national ego trip to run a losing presidential candidate who will just suck votes from Democrats: No.
Labor Party as a strategic plan by unions to recruit and fund Dan Osborn-esque independent candidates in red states: Yes.

Illinois / Cook County needs to do this too.
Officials can’t have it both ways. They encourage protest against ICE, but deploy their own police who initiate violence against those protesters, then uphold bogus charges that their police largely manufactured.

the real problem for the Democrats is that they’re committed only to help people in ways that leave nobody worse off (ie ways that impede nobody’s profits). so that basically leaves them with infrastructure and targeted tax breaks as the only policy levers.

It takes me 3x as long to grade assignments now, because I have to explain gently and effectively why ChatGPT style writing is boring -- they swim in this stuff now even when they don't use the tools. Maybe no one has even told them their own voice matters, so that is down to us. 3/

Look at this fab hat I got from Remora House at the Punk Rock Flea Market yesterday — it’s black with white embroidery that says “f*ck ice.” I’m wearing a fab thrifted scarf with teal, orange, and red globs in black; I’m also wearing my “OMG” necklace that has become a daily choice. Please give generously, friends!
Tomorrow is my birthday, and if you’re inclined, I would appreciate it if you could donate to @remorahousedc.bsky.social. Aside from being stellar people, they work hard year-round to give comfort and aid to our neighbors in need. givebutter.com/remorahouse I’ll match the 1st $100 in donations, too.

While DOGE no longer formally operates within SSA, there are still DOGE-affiliated staff remaining at the agency, and many of DOGE’s priorities—downsizing, automation, and data centralization—appear to be continuing under Bisignano’s leadership. As discussed in the accompanying article on American Oversight v. Treasury and SSA, watchdog groups are actively litigating DOGE’s role in accessing SSA systems and influencing agency policy. The Supreme Court’s June 2025 decision in SSA v. AFSCME, temporarily permitted DOGE to access SSA data.
The DOGE playbook is still being carried out by political appointees. I work at SSA and the Commissioner has repeatedly said he is a ‘DOGE guy’ and that we should embrace the DOGE ethos. And many former DOGE staffers have burrowed their way into the civil service.
